Talk Play Grow provides the following services:
An initial assessment is required to determine the nature of your child’s difficulties and develop goals for therapy. The duration of the session is usually 90 minutes. It includes feedback to parents/caregivers.
Individual therapy sessions
Therapy sessions are individually tailored based on the goals developed collaboratively by you and your Speech Language Pathologist. The duration may be 30, 45 or 60 minutes depending upon the nature of your child’s difficulties.
Telehealth therapy sessions
Therapy sessions can be conducted using the internet for families who have barriers to accessing the clinic. These sessions are the same as our individual therapy sessions except you and your child will interact with your Speech Language Pathologist via a computer with internet access.
Assessment, therapy and observations can be conducted at your home or your child’s preschool or school (with their permission). The duration of these visits is 60 minutes. A travel charge will be incurred based on the number of kilometres to be travelled.
Group therapy sessions
Group sessions are offered for early language, social skills and school readiness based on demand. The duration of the groups are 60 or 90 minutes followed by a 15 minute parent talk to discuss goals and strategies. Groups usually run once a week for 5 weeks.
Assessment and progress reports
Reports detailing a child’s assessment results, strengths and areas for improvement and progress over time are provided upon request.
As the services at Talk Play Grow have a strong focus on developing the skills of parents and carers to carry over therapy into their child’s everyday life it is necessary that a parent or carer is present at every session (excluding groups).
