Is your child starting school in the next year or two?
Then this program is for you!
There is lots of research that shows children who start school with higher levels of early literacy skills have greater academic success. Parent are, without doubt, the most important teachers in their child’s life and play a critical role in developing these skills before school. The Hanen ‘I’m Ready!’ program translates the latest research into practical, usable strategies that enrich the language and literacy development of children with and without delays. By making small but important changes you can help your child develop the key early literacy skills that lay the foundation for learning to read and write.
The I’m Ready! program is delivered by two Hanen qualified Speech Language Pathologists who will guide you through the program. Each session runs for two hours and is split into two parts:
Part One (90mins)
Two concurrent sessions run during this time. A parent-only session is facilitated by the Hanen certified I’m Ready! Program Leader. At the same time a child-only session is facilitated by a Hanen certified Speech Language Pathologist.
Part Two (30mins)
This is a parent-child session. In this session parents and children come together. The Program Leader guides and coaches parents in implementing the I’m Ready! strategies and the Speech Language Pathologist shares information with each parent about their child.
